Well….I guess “gorram” (or frak depending on your fandomlol) is all I can say to that! { but good to know…. }
So I feel like I should clarify a little bit from when I said, “street shooting is illegal in France.” It’s not exactly that broad, so I’ll explain:
- Any photographing of persons without their consent is illegal
- Any “professional” shoot (meaning if you have lights and/or a team) requires…

in the states, it’s illegal if you PUBLISH (read: make money off of) photos of identifiable ppl (sans model release) and/or copyrighted signs/logos…. but as far as taking pictures of people (in public) - w/o the intend to sell, is perfectly legal.

Wow, I had no idea! I shot a lot of photos of strangers on the street when I was in Paris last year. I guess I’m pretty covert about it, haha, but that’s good to know for the next time I’m there. Too bad, because street shooting is my favorite!

So what if I take a photo of a friend and someone walks by in the background? I don’t see how one could take many pictures in Paris without people in them. Is it enforced?
